Fundraising The very first performance of Messiah in Dublin was in aid of charity, and this is a tradition which we are proud and privileged to continue. Each year the committee selects a different local charity, and in recent years, thanks particularly to local sponsorship and loyal audiences, we have been able to present well over £1000 to our chosen charity. The amounts that we are able to donate rely heavily on the proceeds of ticket sales, whilst the cost of staging the performance is largely covered by sponsorship.
